 Transit Cooperative Research Program (TCRP)

The Transit Cooperative Research Program (TCRP) develops near-term, practical solutions to problems facing public transportation. TCRP is managed by the Transportation Research Board, a program of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine. TCRP is sponsored by the Federal Transit Administration and works in partnership with the American Public Transportation Association (APTA).

TCRP provides you access to public transportation-related research reports, and products.

  • TCRP is solicing problem statements identifying research needs for the Transit Cooperative Research Program (TCRP), Fiscal Year 2020 Program.  Problem Statements are due June 17, 2019.

  • TCRP Request for 2019 Synthesis Topics
    The Transit Cooperative Research Program is seeking potential study topics for the FY2019 TCRP Synthesis Program. The Synthesis Program reports on various current practices, and is designed to produce a compendium of the best knowledge available on those practices fund to be the most successful in resolving specific problems.  Ideas for study topics may be submitted by anyone at anytime.  However, the closing date for consideration of ideas for study topics in FY 2019 is March, 15, 2019. 

  • The National Rural Transit Assistance Program (RTAP) hosts Peer Calls every other month on a particular topic in rural and tribal transit to facilitate information sharing and discussion of mutual issues and solutions. Click here ( to find out more and to register for upcoming Peer Calls.
